Mixed among the oranges, reds and gold of fall is a new traditional color for October…PINK!
I was reminded that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month yesterday when I spotted a large table of diners at Castlewood Cafe dressed predominately in pink. Some wore scarves on their heads, either from necessity or in solidarity. They were part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at the Masonic Care Community that had raised $215,000 to battle breast cancer. But just by their presence and dress, that group had also raised breast cancer awareness with everyone in that restaurant, as well as jogging memories of friends and family that have fought breast cancer.
